Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor K. T. Parnaik wants order back at the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology. He met with Director Prof. Narendranath S at Raj Bhavan on June 23 to address recent campus violence. The Governor, who heads the NERIST Society, warned that anyone behind the trouble faces consequences. He stated, "The state government has assured a thorough inquiry into the incident and that all those found responsible would be dealt with in accordance with the law."

The institute near Itanagar faces deep instability. Protests erupted this month over recruitment fights and the disciplining of staff. Tensions spiked when Prof. Narendranath S offered his resignation during the dispute. Students and faculty now wait for the fallout of these governance failures.

Parnaik insisted that discipline remains non-negotiable for the deemed university. He argued that disruptions kill the future prospects of the student body. He wants the administration and faculty to restore the campus peace. Everyone must work together to protect the school, he said.
