Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor K. T. Parnaik met with Lt Gen Neeraj Shukla in Itanagar on Monday to hash out border security plans. The two officials sat down at Lok Bhavan to assess the state of the international boundary. Security remains the top priority. Parnaik pushed for constant vigilance and frequent patrols in sensitive areas to keep the region safe.

The Governor insisted that the military and local government must work as a team. He argued that quick responses depend on it. He noted that such synergy is essential for effective security management and timely responses to emerging challenges. Lt Gen Shukla, the General Officer Commanding of 4 Corps, walked the Governor through the current state of operational readiness and ongoing security operations.

Beyond defense, the discussion shifted to how the Army helps folks living in the boonies. The Armed Forces run various Sadbhavana projects to boost local well-being. These programs focus on coaching students for Sainik Schools, backing self-help groups, and pushing local youth to enlist in the military. Parnaik praised these efforts for bridging gaps in education and healthcare while strengthening national ties. Shukla pledged that the Indian Army will keep supporting both the civil administration and the people of the state.
