Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein said on Wednesday that India has become a stronger and more secure nation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Writing on the social media platform X, he pointed to significant advances in defence preparedness and indigenous manufacturing achieved over the past 12 years.
Mein noted that the country has successfully modernized its armed forces while promoting self-reliance in defence production across air, land, and maritime sectors. "Over the past 12 years, India has made remarkable strides in strengthening its defence capabilities and safeguarding national interests," Mein said.
The Deputy Chief Minister cited several key growth metrics, noting that India's defence budget has more than tripled while defence exports have increased 56-fold. Currently, domestically produced equipment is exported to over 80 countries. He highlighted milestones such as the successful testing of the Agni-V missile with MIRV capability and the commissioning of the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant.
Addressing domestic security, Mein stated that the government has made substantial progress in reducing left-wing extremism and neutralizing militant threats. He cited Operation Sindoor, which he said successfully eliminated 100 terrorists, as evidence of the nation's improved security posture and technological progress.
