Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has officially extended his support to the Jang Shengzam Brothers Youth Association for the upcoming Universal Compassion Cup 2026. This third edition of the football tournament is set to kick off on June 21, serving as a key event in the celebrations for the 91st birthday of the 14th Dalai Lama.
Khandu emphasized that such sporting initiatives are vital for fostering community spirit, youth engagement, and social harmony. He expressed hope that the tournament will encourage participants to embody the principles championed by the Dalai Lama, including peace and unity.
