Itanagar: Chief Minister Pema Khandu pledged state financial aid for victims of the flash floods in Keyi Panyor district. Floodwaters claimed lives and caused heavy damage to the area. Government crews are working now to manage the fallout.

The state cleared the main road blockage near Pitapool to restore access. Officials evacuated trapped tourists and wounded victims by air from Ziro to Naharlagun. Emergency teams also airlifted the body of Nirmala Gupta back to her family for final rites.

Khandu confirmed that cash support is coming for those hit by the disaster. "Ex-gratia to the families of the deceased and relief support to the injured and affected households will be provided as per government norms," he stated. Local agencies remain on the ground to track damage and run rescue ops.

Khandu wants citizens to watch for safety alerts. Do not ignore official warnings. Stay clear of high-risk zones while recovery efforts continue.
