Itanagar: Two talented cake artists from Arunachal Pradesh have earned global acclaim after securing prestigious titles at the 4th Asia Cake Oscars, held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on May 17. The event saw Tacho Taggu and Suresh Sabar compete against elite pastry experts and culinary artists from across the globe, ultimately triumphing in the categories of Non-Dairy Flowers and Cake Sculptures and Sugar Models.
Representing India on the international stage, the Pasighat-based chefs impressed a panel of judges with their technical precision, artistic detailing, and intricate edible designs. This victory marks a significant milestone in their careers, following a series of successful performances at various national-level competitions in recent years.
Beyond their personal achievements, the duo operates the Sugar Arts Studio in Pasighat. This training institute is dedicated to confectionery, baking, and sugar art education, offering professional hands-on instruction to beginners and aspiring entrepreneurs. By sharing their expertise, Taggu and Sabar aim to foster skill development and promote the potential of culinary entrepreneurship within Northeast India.
