Itanagar: An Indian Army truck plunged off National Highway 13 on Friday, killing one soldier and wounding two others. The crash occurred in West Kameng district at approximately 2 pm. The truck, assigned to the 18 Sikh Light Infantry, veered off the road and smashed through a chain-link fence at the Sashastra Seema Bal headquarters. It tumbled down a steep hillside before landing near the battalion physical training ground.

Rapid Rescue Team members from the 30th Battalion SSB arrived to haul the victims from the mangled wreckage. Medics rushed the survivors to nearby clinics. One soldier was taken to a local health center where a doctor "declared one person brought dead." The two remaining men are receiving care at the District Hospital in Bomdila and a health center in Dirang. Their conditions remain under observation.
