Kohima: Academic achievement was in the spotlight this past Saturday as the Kohima Ongpangkong Telongjem and Asetkong Mungdang hosted separate events to honor Ao students for their success in HSLC and HSSLC examinations. These ceremonies celebrated both the hard work of the students and the supportive roles played by their families and teachers.

In Kohima, the 20th N.I. Jamir Academic Excellence Award recognized 13 top students from six Ao ranges. Each recipient received a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and a citation. Guest of honor Moatoshi Longkumer praised the students for their consistency and discipline, encouraging them to blend academic progress with technological skills and cultural pride. Professor Pangersenla Walling also spoke at the event, urging students to prioritize self-learning and critical engagement with modern tools like artificial intelligence.

Meanwhile, the community gathered at Süngratsü for the 7th Asetkong Mungdang Yajen Aier Honorary Award and the AKTM Excellency Award. Held under the theme of reinvigorating teaching and learning, the program highlighted the importance of student well-being. EAC Kobulong, Obangnener Jamir, advised students to focus on personal growth rather than comparisons with others. He also drew attention to the need for community support to boost enrollment levels in local government schools.

The event celebrated various high achievers, including top science students like Tirmen Jamir and Ungnir L. Kichu, along with HSLC standout Retina Jamir. The Yajen Aier Award also recognized top performers from various Tzükong schools, such as Limaonger, Aosanen, and Sashimongla I. Longku.
