Angry Mob Blocks Road After Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Assam

Guwahati: A pedestrian died after a motorcycle slammed into him in the Harinchhara area of Barkhola. Sadhu Bauri was walking at 9 pm on July 4 when the speeding bike struck him. Bystanders and Barkhola Police hauled the injured man to the local hospital.

Bauri died at Silchar Medical College and Hospital around 1 am. He never recovered. The news sparked outrage across the Cachar district.

Angry locals blocked the Silchar, Jaintia, and Kalain road. They want the biker in handcuffs. The crowd demanded that the Cachar Deputy Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police show up at the scene. Barkhola Police stated, "Efforts are underway to arrest the accused at the earliest."

Investigators tracked down the bike and the rider, who reportedly lives in Nutan Basti. Authorities flooded the area with extra officers to keep the peace. The investigation remains open.
