Guwahati: AIUDF President Badruddin Ajmal has called on the Assam government to implement support measures and rewards for families with more children. Speaking to reporters in Guwahati, the party leader suggested that the state's declining population growth requires urgent policy intervention to address shifting demographic trends.

Ajmal argued that welfare initiatives could effectively encourage population growth and provide families with the necessary resources for support. Addressing the media, he stated, "The government should reward people for having more children and also provide the required facilities because the population is decreasing in Assam."

These comments arrive during ongoing public discussions regarding social welfare and demographic shifts in the region. Given the sensitive nature of population politics in the state, Ajmal's proposal is expected to trigger further debate among policymakers and the public alike.
