Agartala: Teachers at AGMC are backing the government decision to scrap private practice for faculty members. It is a major shift. The staff now expects the administration to hold up their end of the bargain by improving service conditions and lifting base pay.
Faculty representatives argue that the ban is only half the battle. They say the institution needs to modernize how it treats its experts. "AGMC teachers welcome private practice ban, seek service reforms and pay revision," the faculty group stated regarding their formal request to the board.
The push for new contracts comes as teachers adjust to the loss of side income. Without these pay hikes, many fear morale will crater. They want a clearer path forward for medical educators in the state.
