Agartala: Tripura Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb announced that the Ministry of Railways has upgraded the Agartala to Rani Kamalapati special train into a permanent express service. The decision follows a formal request by the former Chief Minister to address the needs of commuters traveling between Tripura and central India.

The route, previously operated as special service numbers 01666 and 01665, will now function as the 11666 and 11665 Agartala to Rani Kamalapati Express. This change takes effect immediately.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed the approval through an official letter sent to the Tripura representative. Deb expressed his gratitude to the minister for the move, noting that the transition to a regular schedule will significantly improve rail connectivity and provide long-term convenience for passengers on this route.
