Agartala: Construction crews officially kicked off work on the Tridev Temple in Agartala this Friday morning. The Bhumi Pujan ceremony took place in the Pukurpar area of Ward 18. Local families have pushed for this project for a long time. They finally got their wish.
Ward 18 Corporator Abhishek Dutta served as the chief guest for the morning rites. Priests chanted mantras and handled traditional offerings as the crowd watched. Elected officials and community leaders joined the residents to mark the start of the build.
Dutta addressed the group during the event. He noted that the temple project exists specifically to honor the community. He said, "The temple project was undertaken to honour the religious sentiments and cultural aspirations of the people in the ward."
Locals expect the finished site to do more than host prayers. They plan to use the space for social gatherings, festivals, and cultural programs. The temple will serve as a hub for the neighborhood once construction concludes. It aims to strengthen local bonds.
