Imphal: The All Club Organisation Association and Meira Paibi Lup (ACOAM-Lup) celebrated its 26th Foundation Day on Thursday. The group spent the day delivering food, books, and supplies to local children's homes before gathering at their headquarters for a formal event.
President Sanjit Soraisam and his team used the anniversary to push for a resolution to the ethnic violence that has gripped Manipur since May 2023. The organization blamed the chaos on what it labeled as "Kuki narco-terrorists" and claimed many Meitei people died while defending their land.
The group slammed both the state and central governments for failing to stop the fighting. They questioned the effectiveness of central security forces and argued that stronger action early on could have prevented the crisis. They also raised alarms about cross-border movement, despite the end of the Free Movement Regime, and called for tighter security along the Indo-Myanmar border while singling out the Assam Rifles for criticism.
ACOAM-Lup demanded a fast investigation into war crimes and pushed for the state to return displaced families to their original homes. The group urged indigenous communities to stand together to protect their collective future.
