Kohima: Abu Metha, Advisor to the Chief Minister and Chairman of the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland, launched a new dialysis unit and solar street lights at District Hospital Mon on September 2. The unit operates under a Public-Private Partnership model. The ceremony took place at the District Hospital Conference Hall with Deputy Commissioner Wennyei Konyak and Superintendent of Police Kanchan Kumar Kandpal in attendance.
Metha praised the medical staff and the organization Doctors For You for their work. He called the facility a model for other state institutions. He said, "The government's objective was to promote equitable development and connectivity across the State."
The official pushed for a better focus on education, employment, and healthcare. He noted existing state programs like the Chief Minister's Health Insurance Scheme and the Chief Minister's Micro Finance Initiative. Metha also acknowledged progress toward the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority. He urged citizens to work together for regional growth.
Sunny Borgohain, a representative for Doctors For You, detailed the project services during the event. Metha handed out sanction letters to beneficiaries of the SCK initiative. He ended the visit with an inspection of the hospital campus and wards, according to the State DIPR.
