Abandoned Infant Found Outside Imphal East Child Welfare Office

Imphal: A one-month-old baby boy now sits in state care after staff found him dumped at the District Child Protection Unit gate in Khuman Lampak. Workers discovered the infant on June 28. They acted fast.

The Social Welfare Department handed the boy over to the Child Welfare Committee in Imphal East. Officials officially named the baby Tomthin Nganba. The team moved him to the Specialised Adoption Agency to ensure he stays safe under the Juvenile Justice Act.

Porompat Police logged the incident in their files on June 29. Now, authorities want answers. They need anyone who knows the boy or his family to step up. People have 60 days to report to the DCPU or the adoption agency with proof.

The agency warned that the clock is ticking. If nobody claims the child, he will become available for new parents. "The case has also been reported to the Porompat Police Station, where a General Diary entry was registered on June 29."
