AASU Leader Killed and Relative Injured in Nalbari Attack

Guwahati: A local All Assam Students Union leader, Madhurjya Barman, died following a violent attack in Nalbari district on Sunday evening. The assault also left his cousin sister in critical condition.

Police reported that the pair were traveling home to Gangapur village near Jagara after buying books in Nalbari town when the incident occurred. Barman suffered severe head and neck injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Nalbari Medical College and Hospital.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack. Officials have not yet identified any suspects or determined a motive. The tragedy has triggered widespread concern across the region, prompting local residents and AASU members to call for a swift investigation and justice for the victims.
