Itanagar: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union is turning up the heat on the state government. The group wants the 80:20 job reservation ratio scrapped for good. They refuse to budge. AAPSU President Meje Taku made it clear that his organization will not accept half-measures or backroom deals on the policy.
State officials recently formed a committee to review the controversial rules. Taku said his team will watch that committee like a hawk. He dismissed claims that the union hijacked the protest movement, insisting they are simply fighting for the local students and indigenous people of Arunachal Pradesh.
The pressure is mounting. The union boss stated, "We will not compromise on this issue under any circumstances." Taku promised that the democratic protest will grind on until the government pulls the plug on the 80:20 system. For AAPSU, the end of this policy is non-negotiable.
